President McGill Announces Retirement and Names Successor
Nevada, Iowa, January 5, 2023– A Nevada community leader, Steve McGill, President and CEO at State Bank & Trust Co., has announced his retirement. The Board of Directors, officers and staff at State Bank & Trust would like to thank Steve for his tremendous career in community banking.
McGill’s retirement will mark the culmination of a nearly 40-year career in banking. He earned his BS in 1976 at Iowa State University. He began his 23-year career at SBTC in 1999. Upon joining SBTC, Steve became Senior Lender overseeing the agriculture and commercial loan portfolio. A few short years later, McGill became President and CEO. Over his tenure, Mr. McGill has been instrumental in facilitating the Bank’s growth from $100 million in assets to its current $220 million.

McGill welcomes Dan Johnson as the new President and CEO. Dan joined the team at State Bank & Trust Co. in 2008 as a Vice President of Ag and Commercial Lending. In 2011, he was promoted to his most recent role as Executive Vice President/Sr. Lender and a member of the bank’s board of directors.
